Residencial Castell's inspirations are completely connected with the surrounding city and region. Catalonia has landscapes with authentic tones: building facades in pastel, terracotta and beige tones connect with the colors of the sandy beaches traditionally frequented by its inhabitants and seasonally by tourists, endowed with a greenish blue that changes according to the incidence of the sun. This combination of nuances creates an identity that can be seen in iconic works, such as Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, Park Güell and other lesser-known buildings.
Through this observation and analysis of the city and landscapes, we chose the shades of the stones that would form part of the granilite, the main material in the project, which are the colors green, blue, pink and beige. In addition, the granilite effect itself refers to the tile cutouts that form the mosaics developed by Antoni Gaudí
Also inspired by this architect, the wood chosen to make the joinery was European oak, the raw material for most of the iconic furniture designed by him and widely used in Catalan buildings.
Technically, the fireplace should be kept in the same position because of the building's piping, which makes the project interesting because it transforms the element of the fireplace into a protagonist in the transition of spaces, providing technology and also contemporary design.
The kitchen that was previously enclosed opens up and talks with the TV and Living room, structuring the concept for the other spaces and providing functionality.
The bathrooms were also designed to be protagonists through authentic choices that differ from what is common. Tiles from exclusive suppliers are framed by the colors chosen for the walls, the metals act as the finishing touch of the composition.
